District Committee on Ministry
The District Committee has completed its interviews for commissioning and referred three candidates to the Board of Ordained Ministry for consideration for commissioning at annual conference in May, 2010.
The District Committee on Ministry will be contacting all local pastors in the district to arrange interviews with the DCOM this spring. Every local pastor is expected to meet with the DCOM and, unti they have completed the Course of Study, to have a mentor who is either an elder or another local pastor who had completed the Course of Study.
If you are someone considering a possible call to ministry as an ordained or licensed pastor, we invite you to explore candidacy by contacting the district superintendent in writing. Your letter should indicate your interest, briefly describe your current sense of call, and provide contact information. The registrar of the DCOM will then contact you to set up a date to meet with the DCOM for an exploratory interview. Candidacy is a process of mutual discernment, so you do not need to have all the answers when you contact the district office, just a sense that God is calling you to use your gifts in professional ministry.
